Taking bikes on planes creates issues.  After meticulously packing your bike away and padding it out, you then have to get it to the airport and check it in.  This can be a logistical exercise in itself.  After you land you have to retrieve your bike and get it to the hotel.  Again, logistics is an issue although we shall help you as much as we can.

Bike boxes, when used correctly do a great job at protecting your bike as it travels overseas.  Accidents, although slim, can happen and this can be heartbreaking and indeed costly when you open the box only to find part of your bike needs repairing.
